Preliminary Invocations, from the annoyingly titled I††, pulls the drag/witch-house genre certifiably into a haunted world of time-stretched vocals, sparse and ghostly productions and repetitive rhythms. Out now on the progressive and always entertaining AMDiscs label, this release haunts and bewilders with equal measure. Perfect for Halloween if you’re into that kinda thing.
