Wools - From Fornelo

Coming from AMDiscs it might seem like you’d already know how they would sound. Yet within the verdant walls of layered synths you find interesting melodies and beats comprised from genres wholly dissimilar from the 2010 brand of dark, brooding and bloody witch/stoner house. From the tracks I’ve heard from From Fornelo each one sticks out as something completely different, almost as if each we’re brought together by different artists. However there is a binding influence that ties all of them together and that is the restless creaking and spluttering that filters through each track. That noise is just out of focus but brilliantly makes Wools seem complete. Listen to Roberto in the Summer below for an aural understanding of the the picture I am trying to create:

Blissed Out - Spinners

Taken from their latest album NYC Evrythng, Blissed Out have released a video for Spinners, a track that is as dark and foreboding as you’d imagine from a band renowned for destroying and ripping the soul out of the remixes that they create. The video then is just as foreboding. Created by Ceremonial Dagger the video mixes some manga, some futuristic animation and plenty of evil looking manifestations to fulfill the role Blissed Out made for it.

Blissed Out - NYC Evrything EP

More disturbing noises from the AMDiscs label. BL§§D ØU† (formerly the more SEO friendly Blissed Out) are to release an EP, NYC Evrything, on November 23rd, followed up by a full length vinyl release in late 2010, and a European tour in early 2011. BL§§D ØU† are known to me through their remixes of the likes of Pink Priest and Abe Vigoda. Each offering they have done has been a wholly fresh approach to the track, often tearing it to pieces and supplementing any trace of melody with haunted notes, sound effects and lashing of inhuman echo. The result is always disturbing.

I Cemetary - Preliminary Invocations

Preliminary Invocations, from the annoyingly titled I††, pulls the drag/witch-house genre certifiably into a haunted world of time-stretched vocals, sparse and ghostly productions and repetitive rhythms. Out now on the progressive and always entertaining AMDiscs label, this release haunts and bewilders with equal measure. Perfect for Halloween if you’re into that kinda thing. The whole EP can be downloaded here, and if you’re into this dark and challenging music, check out the rest of their roster, it certainly makes for interesting listening.
