Hauschka returns on April 11th with a new record entitled Salon des Amateurs, to be released on FatCat Records. The artist is best known for his acrobatic and illuminating electronic and experimental records, drawing from a semi-classical lexicon littered with elements of drone and ambient music. His previous album Foreign Landscape, released last year, saw the composer extend his apparatus and adopt a small orchestra, though he still made it swim in that minimal electronic aesthetic. News is that Salon des Amateurs will head further into a techno and house direction and for this we couldn’t be more excited.
