Meke Menete have eked out a living digging around in Northern soil for sometime, flitting between monikers Youth, then Books, then Youth/Books. But now with a solid conceptual basis for their art, their existence has taken root and grown into a budding flower. Lonely Sexy Death creeps along with a dark mystery, as haunted vocals and distant ambient moods fill the spaces. However within it lies a quality that is very difficult to capture, and one which they manage to do so with aplomb. That quality is something similar to a burning soul, a yearning for life and the eternal yes! This track pretty much seems to cover the distance between illusory and the real, bringing to life a sense of affirmation. Listen to it below:


beach fossils – european tour

Although the name suggests otherwise Brooklyn based band Beach Fossils will be hitting up Europe in October and November for their debut European tour. Their debut self-titled album was released earlier in the year on Captured Tracks and blends a mixture of hazy, jangly guitar with effortless vocals.

UK Tour dates:

23rd October – Swn Festival, Cardiff

25th October – Deaf Institute, Manchester

26th October – White Heat @ Madame JoJo’s, London
