Below is the video for Memoryhouse’s Heirloom, directed by wunderkind Jamie Harley who has managed a perfect marriage between the two different contents. One, a modern pop/psychedelic track filtered through the glass of recent decades in music, the second, early colour footage and a realtime look at the 1960s, cut-up and re-imagined in light of the recent advances in video programming. The effect is one of of outstanding beauty of an almost mesmeric quality. Of course we’d expect nothing less from the man who did the double with the two Fiveng videos, who brought us Lonely Galaxy’s Time, and of course the superbly crafted video for How to Dress Well’s Lover’s Start.
