james blake – i only know (what I know now)

Today is a long-awaited day for futuresoundstemporary. After the release of James Blake’s phenomenal CMYK in June of this year we’ve been counting down the days to hear what his next effort would be like. And here it is, in the form of Klavierwerke. On I Only Know (What I Know Now), Blake utilises his own voice in a most soothing and spacious way, seeking silence and serenity through cut-up vocals and piecemeal offerings of piano chords and heavy decay.   2. nice to see someone using silence as the most affecting element. something experimental music really needs to start using more often.
