I’ve always enjoyed British Sea Power, perhaps because their weirdo persona sits awkwardly askance to the rest of British indie and that makes them so much more interesting. Their aesthetic is wonderful to admire, often decking out the stage as if it were a dense jungle and performing in bizarre and difficult places – I imagine their bank manager disapproves.
Well anyway they are back with their first effort since the Man of Aran which sound-tracked a documentary of the same name. The EP entitled Zeus is to be released on October 4th but is available to preorder here.
