It’s been 25 years since Scotland’s original indie band Orange Juice played their final show. Today however brings great news that they’ll be releasing a 7 disc boxset.
In time for the Christmas shopping period Coals to Newcastle will be released via Domino on the 8th November and comprises of 6 cds and 1 dvd. The collection will feature the bands complete discography, live footage and bbc sessions, including 16 unreleased tracks.
Forming in 1979 Orange Juice hailed from Glasgow and went on to release a string of singles on Postcard before signing to Polydor, becoming renowned for their blend of disco beats, post punk rifts and literate optimism. After several line-up changes Orange Juice announced their split during the 1985 Miners Benefit show at Brixton Academy.
