These eccentric Scottish popsters have been around since 2008, offering elements of folk, psych and electronica. Having appeared on a free sampler ‘Doing it For The Kids’ back in 2008. Mitchell Museum received great feedback, leading to the release of their first single Warning bells/Take the tongue out, released on Scottish indie label, Mister Tramp.

Mitchell Museum – Take The Tongue Out by argosbarks

The band draw many comparisons with North American psych band The Flaming Lips, along with Wolf Parade and Modest Mouse, with their excitable live shows and eclectic yet controlled sound. The band have been catching attention from the likes of Huw Stephens, Marc Riley, Steve Lamacq and Lauren Laverne.

Mitchell Museum are re-releasing their Single Warning Bells, out 14th June, including a remix by We Were Promised Jetpacks on FatCat Records.

The bands debut album the peters port memorial service is due out 14th of July.

Over the summer, Mitchell Museum will be playing at Latitude, Wickerman and T in the Park Festivals. Go, watch, enjoy.

    • haha great aren’t they. They’ve got some lo-fi college rock thing going on. And that video too, I need to find out where those clips come from. I want to see the film with the flapper girls dancing in a circle on the beach. That looks wild.
