stornoway – beachcomber’s windowsill

Tomorrow sees the release of Stornoway’s debut full length, Beachcombers windowsill, released on 4AD. The past 12 months have seen the band enjoy a wave of success including being the first unsigned band to play on Later with Jool’s…

Having recently released The National’s, High Violet, and the label debut of Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti due out 8th June, 4AD have had a great start to the year.

Talking about Stornoway 4Ad say “Brian Briggs, Stornoway’s lead singer and songwriter, shows an almost effortless ability to segue deft lyrics that are narrative masterpieces with artful pop stylings. His bandmates; Jonathan Ouin (keys/banjo/electric guitar/cello), Rob Steadman (drums) and Oliver Steadman (bass / electric guitar) are all party to further embellishing this traditionally simple love song into a pop classic in-waiting. Perhaps because of their scientific backgrounds, all four of the band delight in experimenting with unusual instrumentation and production methods.”
